Reebok presents “CLASSIC” by Jonathan Mannion Exhibition @ Milk Studios

If you don’t know who Jonathan Mannion is and you’re a Hip-Hop head, shame shame shame. He is amazing. If you’ve seen any insanely dope, raw photography during the best of the best of the Hip-Hop days to present day, it was probably his. He has continued to capture our generation at it’s peak and in the most dynamic way. He has been in the trenches, the crevices, the crooks n’ crannies of Hip-Hop and lucky for us he has his camera all along the way.

Thank you Jonathan for so well documenting and taking care of our precious Hip-Hop culture, we do love her so and you have outdone yourself my friend.

Established hip-hop photographer Jonathan Mannion recently arranged his latest showcase titled “CLASSIC” alongside Reebok, which was held over 2 days at Milk Studios in Los Angeles during Grammy week. 15,000 square feet entertained a diverse mixture of 52 prints put on display – each appointed to reflect a different aspect of Mannion’s visual contribution capturing engaging elements of hip-hop through photography over the length of his career. Included in the images presented were faces such as Big Daddy Kane and QJ Quik who provided performances during the event to compliment their inclusion in the exhibition.

The NEW ‘ish 2012 version of: ‘I used to love her’ – CLOTH

I am a HUGE Common fan and I think he just did me over with his latest album, The Dreamer/The Believer,  especially “CLOTH’, this song had me at hello. Not to get mushy gushy on e’ryone, but in all seriousness this song is so dope, I think it touches a cord in me, maybe you after you listen that is just really beautiful in such a unique Common way.

‘I used to love her’ is my all time favorite classic Common song, but ‘Cloth’ is running a tight race. Listening to it on repeat like it’s going outta style, it couldn’t have made my ears and heart happier at a better time.

Take a listen, I guarantee it will hit you too…

I am super feelin’ this look from recent fashion week, and Los Angeles based brand, Band of Outsiders

I’ve always been extremely into accessories, and suspenders are no exception. From rainbow, to basic black, to leopard, I’m all over them. I really always have adored the kind that have button holes and are work like old fashion styled suspenders, buttoning into the actual pants, alas this would require more of my pants having buttons sewn on the inside, which just isn’t realistic.

I’m so happy they are making a comeback for all of those who forgot about them after the TLC and Kris Kros days, so get out there ladies and get you some! Channel your inner 1920s or maybe even 1990s hip-hop rap star, warning though, suspenders might make you wanna…. JUMP JUMP!
